WATERLOO/ESSEN – In his search for an opportunity to return to Germany, Simon Vanderkelen (52) has found what he was looking for: As of 1 August 2023, he will move from St John’s International School in Waterloo to SBW International School Ruhr (IS Ruhr) and take over as head of school from Claudia Beckmann. “There is nothing more important to me than the health and well-being of the students entrusted to me,” says Simon Vanderkelen, who brings with him broad leadership experience from IB schools in Germany, Belgium, Singapore and Australia.
