Our goal is to enrich the educational landscape of the Ruhr area along with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia through our international perspective, whilst providing German and other families from around the world with access to high-quality and (inter)nationally recognised educational qualifications – Starting from pre-school up to the International Baccalaureate.

The International School Ruhr was originally a project developed by Initiativkreis Ruhr. The school is run by the Swiss SBW Haus des Lernens AG, based in Romanshorn. The SBW network has a total of nine schools in Germany and Switzerland.
